The history of its origins :

The Leuconoe butterfly is native to tropical Asia (Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand ...). It belongs to the family of Lepidoptera. The caterpillar of theLeuconoe is very colorful (black, yellow and red), but once out of its chrysalis, the Leuconoe is very elegant: all white and black.

The leuconoe is a butterfly glider: its large wings and thin body enable it to fly slowly and for a long time. Humans sometimes compare it to an handkerchief carried by the wind.

The leuconoer frequents mangrove swamps and sea coasts. He prefers to fly in low light and during its 3 weeks of life, it rarely goes down to the ground ... except to sit on some sunny plants where it can get energy.

The Leuconoe is very popular butterfly in areas where it lives and people gave it a nickname full of poetry: "The Rice Paper Butterfly". Nice, isn't it?
